MUNICIPAL LAW ATTORNEY
Position Overview
Appel Yost LLP is seeking a highly qualified and motivated attorney to join its legal team as a Municipal Law Attorney.
This position provides comprehensive legal counsel and representation to municipal officials, departments, boards, authorities,
and commissions on a wide range of local government matters.
Key Responsibilities:
• Advise elected officials, boards, and staff on municipal law, governance, and regulatory matters.
• Draft, review, and revise ordinances, resolutions, contracts, intergovernmental agreements, policies, and other legal documents.
• Represent the municipality in administrative proceedings, litigation, and negotiations.
• Provide legal guidance regarding public records, open meetings, ethics, procurement, zoning, land use, employment, and constitutional issues.
• Attend and provide legal counsel at meetings of the governing body, boards, commissions, and committees.
• Monitor changes in federal, state, and local laws affecting municipal operations and recommend appropriate actions.
Qualifications:
• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
• Active license and in good standing with the Pennsylvania Bar.
• Prior experience in municipal, local government, administrative, land use, or public sector law preferred.
• Strong legal research, writing, negotiation, and oral advocacy skills.
• Ability to analyze complex legal issues and provide practical, solution-oriented advice.
• Ability to manage multiple matters effectively and independently.

We are seeking an experienced Real Estate Attorney with a portable book of business to join our expanding practice.

Responsibilities
• Represent clients in a broad range of commercial and residential real estate matters.
• Handle acquisitions, dispositions, leasing, financing, development, land use, and related transactions.

• Manage client relationships and continue to develop new business opportunities.
