Stephen Moniak is a partner of the firm. With over 20 years of litigation experience, Steve serves as Chair of AYZ’s Civil & Commercial Litigation practice and is a member of the Education Law and Employment & Labor Law practices. Prior to joining AYZ, Steve served as Senior Deputy Attorney General in the Pennsylvania Office of the Attorney General where he represented the Pennsylvania State Government and officials in significant cases of state-wide importance including election litigation and the constitutionality of state laws. Steve previously practiced in two Central Pennsylvania law firms in the areas of litigation, education law, and employment and labor law for both public and private sector clients. In service to the community, Steve served as a Court-Appointed Arbitrator for the Dauphin County Court of Common Pleas and as a Chairperson and Board Member on the Derry Township Zoning Hearing Board. In 2023, Steve was selected to serve on the Lancaster Bar Association Board of Directors. For his work in Commercial Litigation, Steve has been routinely named a SuperLawyers honoree. He has also earned an AV Preeminent Martindale-Hubell Peer Review Rating for his high ethical standards. Steve earned his B.A. at the University of Pittsburgh, and his J.D. at Widener University School of Law.
